- Our Straw-bale Integrated Column (SIC) “Kit” System utilizes a wood Post & Beam Structure to support a truss roof system.
- Our kits use Straw Bales as an in-fill for Superior Insulation and Noise Suppression
- Our SIC Panels (Straw-bale Integrated Columns) combine Structural Integrity, Sheer Strength, Simplicity, and Affordability through a system of uniquely designed load bearing components.
- These components consist of: Sheer Corners; Sheer Walls; and multiple sized Window and Door Bucks with vertically members designed as Posts. Thus, the horizontal beam supporting an engineered truss roof system.
- These SIC Panels can be combined with Straw Bales to your desired design specifications to create a variety of floor plans.
- Customers can chose to delete components, including windows, doors, roofing, etc., and buy those locally.



- Talk to your local building officials to determine what, if any, technical information or drawings the building officials will require.
- In some cases, a printed copy of our specifications will be sufficient.
- Frequently, floor plans and elevation drawings will be required.
- There is a $350 fee for this package, refundable if an order is placed within six months

We can provide a drawing package that will meet the requirements of most building departments this would include three sets of foundation plans, anchor bolt locations, floor plans, elevations, frame plans and details, sections and specifications. Occasionally, building officials will also require the set of structural drawings to be bearing an engineer's signature and stamp. These are available from a Local engineer from your state, for an additional cost, we will help locate one with you


- Sill seal, pressure treated sill plate, grade stamped 2x6, 2x4 doubled up Rigid insulation 1 ½”
- Structural supporting posts and shear walls, corners, columns and bucks
- Horizontal Beam supporting the roof system, fire blocking at the top of the bale wall
- All materials are hand selected, cut to precise dimensions, to reduce your construction waste.
- Stucco ready building components, such as widow & door bucks and shear walls & columns
- Prepped with moisture/air barriers, Galvanized Self furring lath and/or stucco netting,
- Galvanized/Zinc casing bead, control joints, expansion joints, corner bead, weep screed etc…
- Galvanized fasteners, brackets, post anchors, hurricane ties, framing angles, etc..
- Dead load: 2.5 psf Live load: 20 psf
- Snow load : 80 psf Wind load 100 mph
Note: • It is the customer's responsibility for the foundation, and to ensure that Building Codes are accurate. All permits and related fees are purchaser’s responsibility.
Note: • Exterior walls are 20” wide, outside sill plate bolts down to your foundation, and inside sill plate is anchored either to your choice of a decking and/or 4” concrete slab
NOTE: • Interior walls and partitions are non-load bearing walls and can be rearranged or removed.
