Shell Kit Information
By using our Advanced Framing Techniques, the kits are uniquely designed for fast assembly.
The Kits are pre-built made with
Straw-bales Integrated with Structural vertical posts and a horizontal beam
that are encased behind the
durable 1 1/2" stucco system.
This straw bale wall system , which combine Structural Integrity, Shear Strength, "green" Simplicity, and Affordability through a system of uniquely designed load bearing components.
This pre-built wall system can be combined with Straw Bales
to your desired design
specifications to allow for a variety of floor plans.
1) Pre-Built Corners
Used for stabilizing the building (2 per corner)
Building with 4 corners = 8 SIC panels
- Benefits:
Straw bales are easy integrated into the structural corners
Stucco ready prepped with moisture barriers, lath, Casing bead, control joints, masking, etc...
2) Pre-built Walls
Used for interior walls
- Benefits:
Used for a structural vertical posts, and to sheer up the building.
Used for a stub out for plaster stop.
Easy to tie into; add the rest of the interior wall at a later date.
Run plumbing, electrical easily.
3) Window and Door Bucks
Vertical structural members designed as Posts.
Various standard sizes for widows and doors.
- Benefits:
Fast and easy to install bolts to the foundation and top beam.
Stucco ready prepped with moisture barriers, flashings, lath,
Casing bead, control joints, trim, masking, etc...
Just set your bales in for simple attachment.
We can frame custom sizes for an additional charge.
4) Column posts
Are for structural support to break a long span.
- Benefits:
Reduce long spans for the beams.
Makes lifting the beams into place easier.
Attachment locations for control joints.
5) Horizontal Beam
Supports the roof system.
- Benefits:
Water tight lid over the bales.
Fire blocking over the bale wall system.
Stout, well designed for easy assemble.
These wall system components consist of:
- Blueprints come with a shell kit package option only. Products sold sepereately do not come with blueprints.
- Our product Straw-bale Integrated Column (SIC) “Kit” System utilizes a wood Post & Beam Structure to support a truss roof system.
- The drawing package specifications, are designed to create a variety of floor plans.
- Our kits use Straw Bales as an in-fill for Superior Insulation and Noise Suppression.
- Services range from planning, drawings, building and plastering your structure.
